Dr.聽Despina Mavromati聽is聽a Swiss and Greek attorney聽based in Lausanne and specializing in international sports law. She is a UEFA Club Financial Control Body Member and an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Despina has been appointed as arbitrator, counsel or expert witness in聽a wide variety of聽sports-related proceedings.聽She was previously a member of the UEFA Appeals Body, the聽World Athletics聽Disciplinary Tribunal, the Gymnastics Ethics Foundation and聽the Doping Hearing Panel of the International Powerlifting Federation. She was the Chair of the Ethics and Disciplinary Commission of the International Weightlifting Federation (2020-2021) and a Managing Counsel at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (2008-2017).
Despina is the author of聽鈥淭he Code of the Court of Arbitration for Sport: Commentary, Cases and Materials鈥澛�(with M. Reeb) and has published extensively on聽international sports law and arbitration. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and an accredited Mediator (CEDR & Harvard).聽
