Biography

Dr. Masatoshi Hara is a Full-time Assistant Professor at Business Breakthrough University in Tokyo, Japan, an Adjunct Faculty at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Geneva, and a Visiting Researcher at the National University of Laos, as well as an internationally engaged scholar-practitioner specializing in development economics, human capital, and AI-driven transformation in higher education and business.

He holds a Ph.D. from Walden University in the United States, a DBA from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Geneva, and an Ed.D. from East Bridge University in France, and was awarded an Honorary Ph.D. by the Swiss Institute of Management and Sciences in February 2026 in recognition of his academic contributions and international engagement. His research has been published in leading international journals, including Springer Nature publications, with a focus on economic development in ASEAN and the role of higher education in escaping the middle-income trap.

Dr. Hara has extensive professional experience across the Asia-Pacific region, having worked in the Philippines, China, Lao PDR, Thailand, and Vietnam in both public and private sectors, including roles in government consulting related to Official Development Assistance.

In addition to his academic work, he is the co-founder of EduVantage with Noa, where he supports doctoral candidates and professionals in advancing research capabilities and global academic careers. His work bridges theory and practice, contributing to sustainable economic development and capacity building in emerging economies.
